**Below is my support letter that I have been mailing out. I wanted to post it on here as well to reach more people! Feel free to share this with anyone and everyone!
Hello!!
I hope all is well with you! Recently, I graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a minor in Counseling. During my four years at college, I questioned what would be next. Originally I had planned on going to graduate school but I felt God was calling me in another direction.
I have always been passionate about missions, growing up my family spent the holidays volunteering at local shelters and spreading the Lord’s word. Volunteering has been a huge aspect of how I grew up and from that I learned to have a servant heart. My first mission trip was in 2011 to Portland, Maine. Since then, I have been on six total mission trips in various locations. Through these mission trips, I truly found my happy place. I get the opportunity to live on the mission field for 11 months starting in January 2020.
The World Race is an 11-month mission trip to 11 different countries around the world. This opportunity will allow my team and I to reach out to local communities each month and show them God’s love and preach the Gospel. Each month we will be connecting with new people and physically showing them Christ’s love. The countries I will be traveling to are: Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Romania, Serbia, Albania and Turkey. I am looking forward to experiencing all of the different culture I will encounter.
The World Race is an amazing opportunity for both you and I. God has called me to go on the mission field and He is also calling you, my family and friends to help make this possible. I get the opportunity to raise support before I launch into the world. Prayer is the number one thing both my squad and I are always in need of. Prayers for a safe and successful trip are always welcome and appreciated.
In addition to prayer support, I need to raise $19,200 over the next three months to cover the cost of lodging, food, travel, insurance and other costs. If you feel led to donate, any amount would be greatly appreciated. As you make your donations, remember that you are a part of this journey just as much as I am. God is using both of us to reach out to these countries and spread His word.
There are two ways to financially donate:
- Via my blog [https://kellieschlangen.theworldrace.org] – Feel free to subscribe to keep updated on my blog posts during my journey.
- By check. Please make all checks payable to Adventures in Missions and put “Kellie Schlangen” in the memo line.
