Hello! My name is Kellie Schlangen! I am a senior at Indiana State University majoring in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Counseling. I have been actively involved over the past four years in Panhellenic life on campus, including my sorority, Gamma Phi Beta. Over this time I have had the opportunity to serve this community through multiple leadership roles.

Mission work became a priority in my life after multiple mission trips, more specifically my most recent trip to Puerto Rico during the first week of July 2018. This was my second time on the island and fifth mission trip overall and this one was a game changer. Not only the relationships I formed from both staff and locals, but the clarity to do Christ's work.

The World Race is the perfect opportunity for me to grow spiritually and gain a deeper relationship with God. For 11 months I will have the opportunity to serve along side fellow young adults in 11 different countries. God has put mission work on my heart for many years, but the road here has not been easy. My education and my life goals had me going one direction, but God has always pulled me in a different direction (you know, that little voice that we ignore). My head told me I was going to go to graduate school, get a job and live my life. The whole time something didn't feel right, until I submitted my application for The World Race. My heart was clear, my mind was clear and everything came into focus. As many reservations I have about the trip and the finances, I have absolute clarity and purpose to know it will all work out. This is where I am being called.

How to Support Me:

  • Prayers, Prayers, Prayers - Pray that God uses me for His Glory, for the safety of my squad, for the financial resources to complete this mission and for the locals that we will be touching along the way.
  • Financial Support - If God puts it on your heart to help me financially, there is a donate button at the top of this page. The total investment of this trip is just under $20,000 and any donation of any size will help achieve this goal. I can't do it without you.
  • Subscribe to My Blog - Stay updated on my journey both before the Race and while I am on the field. I will be posting both picture and blog updates here weekly.
