I came a day early to The World Race training camp for a workshop called Storyteller Workshop where 40 of us learn how to share our stories during the world race. We were given a prompt to create a story about what we are most excited for while on the field. My mind was racing with ideas, because I am so excited for everything!

The one thing that stuck out to me was breaking stereotypes. When I tell some people that I am going to Turkey, Serbia or Albania they flinch and warn me to not go to these countries because of all the preconceived ideas they have of this culture and the people that live there. While I am in those countries, I want to break the stereotype and show the light of the Lord through the locals I will get the opportunity to meet.

My project today included capturing some stereotypes of the individuals here at training camp and sharing their stories to the best of my ability. I asked each individual to write down a stereotype that they have heard about themselves or something that you would not know just by looking at them on the surface. Community and intimacy are such large parts of The World Race and I cannot wait to share this globally with my squad.

Without further ado, here are some beautiful people holding their prejudgments without letting them control their lives.
