So many amazing things are happening here in Palacagüina, Nicaragua. The Lord has been speaking to my team in so many beautiful ways.

Yesterday (January 23) my team and I were at our ministry which is construction, we are expanding a church and building a children’s school. As soon as we got there we started having amazing spiritual conversations and worshipping with music. One of my teammates started noticing a pain in her shoulder. I hit myself with a rebar in the head resulting in me sitting down for a few minutes. I went and talked with the Lord about everything and he quickly told me to get up and not let the enemy distract me from the amazing conversations I was having. I took that back to my team and one of my teammates, Hannah mentioned that she wanted to pray more and Kristen threw out the idea of praying on our knees. We quickly decided that was what we needed to do and walked up to the church which is at ground level. We began to pray and debrief everything we were thinking and what the Lord was telling us. It was an amazing time to learn how to rest as a team with the Lord and how to step back from situations. That afternoon, our host, Osman, told us to take the afternoon off and we did just that. It truly felt like we were at battle all day and we were exhausted mentally and physically.

Later, our host came by our house and spoke with our Squad Leader about how he feels the Lord is telling us to stay home from ministry tomorrow and pray all day. He gave us a list of things he thinks we should pray for. A few of us cried due to the overwhelming blessing from the Holy Spirit. His presence was just so clear.

We woke up this morning (January 24) and began to ask the Lord about our day and where we should start. We immediately went to the church where our ministry is at to pray over those grounds and for everyone there. I felt the need to pray over Pastor David (the pastor at the church we are expanding) so we asked him to stop construction for a moment to allow us to pray over him. He eagerly walked into the building and got on his knees facing the alter. We laid our hands on him and started praying in English, which he doesn’t speak. After we were done praying, he stood up with tears in his eyes. He explained to us that the Lord told him this morning that prayer is the most important thing and to not get distracted in building the actual foundation of the church. The Lord speaks all languages and it’s so amazing that Pastor David knew what we were saying to him through Jesus. This moment validated my love for missions and reaching people globally.

Prayer is so so important y’all. It’s easy to get caught up in everyday tasks and just go through the motions but I encourage you to step back from your current situation and just talk to the Lord. He loves us and wants deeper relationships with us.
