An Open Letter

To Everyone Who Warned Me That Leaving the Country Was Unsafe,

 

Where do you stand now? Am I safer now that I am home? Does being on American soil make the Corona Virus disappear? Does it make the killer wasps fly away? Does it make the riots stop? Does it make racism disappear? Am I really safer here? 

I am more nervous about traveling my own country and spreading the gospel then I was hopping on a plane to a foreign country where nobody speaks the same language. Why is that?

Could it be that we are living with sever racism and riots are breaking out across the nation? Could it be that 30 minutes from my house buildings are getting broken into and going up in flames? Maybe it’s because American’s are bored of COVID so we decided that it’s just done or the fact that elections are coming up, so we all get a free pass to act like we don’t have any sense. There is SO much going on in our own backyard, yet people are still saying the rest of the world is dangerous?? There is a HUGE disconnect here, folks. 

People are taking advantage of riots and protests to promote their own political agendas. Are you serious? You are using an innocent mans life to campaign?! Can we all just pump the brakes for a second? Since when did we start worshipping politicians like they have all the answers? Adding the election on top of everything going on and people are acting NASTY. I have seen so many Christians pushing their political opinions right now instead of pointing people to the Lord. Don’t you think we need Him now more than ever?

People are willing to attack each other over politicians that don’t even know you exist. But you know who does know you exist? The one that took His time to make every single one of us. The Holy Spirit that lives within each of us. Did you know that everything you do, you are inviting the Lord into? He cannot be separated from us. Would He be proud of the actions you’re taking right now? Would He want you to make that post on Facebook about the other political party? If Jesus Christ were walking this Earth right now, where do you think He would be? Would He be spreading love or would He be calling people idiots? That’s a no brainer for me. So why are we not spreading love like the Lord would be? When did we as a society start living for the world?  

Now I am being told to just stay in Indiana and not travel the country because it’s unsafe. So it’s unsafe for me to leave the country and it’s unsafe for me to be in the country, where do I go? No matter the direction I go, it’s wrong in someones opinion and that’s the beautiful that about not living for the world. I am living for Jesus Christ and I will go wherever He calls me, no matter how “unsafe” you think it may be. It breaks my heart to see so many brothers and sisters in Christ living for the world and letting politicians control your thoughts. I am going to give you a quick tip – Trump isn’t perfect, Biden isn’t perfect, they make mistakes just like any one of us. They don’t have the all the answers to life and the cure for world peace. Jesus is perfect and He does have the answers. We shouldn’t be turning our backs on the one that created us, we should be running towards Him and searching for answers. 

I invited you to take a Holy Spirit pause before you post something political. Is this what Jesus would’ve done? Are you promoting love or hate? Be kind to one another.
